Our Studio | BFTC

Black Forest Tattoo Company was created in August of 2023 by artist Alina Sauve, in the hopes of making a safe, calm, and relaxing tattoo environment for those inside and outside the rural parts of Ottawa. As an all female studio, we take pride in ourselves for providing excellent customer comfort and satisfaction during each session.

Because we are a private studio, we believe we are able to provide a less stressful and a more relaxing one-on-one tattoo experience by not accepting walk-ins and running our studio by appointment only. We also take pride in our ability to work with clients in creating amazing, custom, life-long pieces of art. For this reason will only accept requests that we believe we can execute to our best ability and are happy to provide outside-studio recommendations.

Alina - @alinatatts

With 6 years of tattoo experience, Alina specializes in fine line, ornamental, geometrical, and botanical tattoos. She is 200/hr with a $400 minimum when her books open. She is the head artist and owner of BFTC , and her favourite thing about tattooing is making people feel more comfortable in their own skin.

Jessyka - @jessykatattoos

Jessyka started off her journey in the industry as a piercer in a tattoo shop. Among her talents of drawing, painting and other artistic hyper fixations, she quickly discovered her passion for tattooing after watching and studying other artists for years. Spending the time investing in her artistic capabilities, she began her mentorship with Alina at Black Forest Tattoo Co. Spending her first year learning different styles, she’s well-versed in the tattoo language and has since graduated from apprentice to junior artist in late 2023.From all things nature to anything creepy and weird, Jess is still figuring out her style but has especially loved doing neo traditional, black line work, and anything colour. She has recently started experimenting with realism and can’t wait to explore this style of tattooing more.

As she continues to grow as an artist, some fun subjects Jess would loc to explore include botanicals, animals, medieval things, folklore, creatures, monsters, and anything out of the ordinary .

Jess currently works full time.

Carly - @carlydoestatts

Carly has had a passion for drawing since early childhood, with a focus on animals and mythical creatures. She would spend countless hours sketching up dragons and beasts of her own design before growing up and joining the work force. After spending her post-secondary education and six further years in the design industry, she decided it was time for a career change to help bring her back to what she loves most - being a nerd. Her hobbies away from tattooing include drawing pet portraits, watercolor painting and video games.

Carly graduated her tattoo apprenticeship late 2023 with a fire in her eye for fun and characterful designs. Still searching for her own signature style, she enjoys designing anything to bring her clients' visions to life, including floral, anime, script, memorial pieces, comics and more. If there are nerdy elements to it, she's in! Her favourite styles of tattoos are neo-traditional and anime, taking particular interest in large pops of colour.

Carly is full-time.

General Policies

18+

No Kids, No Pets.

No Smoking, No drugs or alcohol.

Must have valid photo ID.

No outdoor footwear.

One guest per person only.

Scheduled time = on time. You do not have to show up early and please do not show up late.

Any appointments that are more than 20 minutes late are subjected to being rescheduled.

No shows will be blacklisted.

Door remains locked during most private sessions.

Please call 613 692 3232 if you are here for your appointment and it is locked, or would like to come in and purchase merchandise.

Along with our policies, we have the right to refuse service to anyone. Disrespect, frequent reschedules, and stupidity will not be tolerated.

Booking Policies:

- Booking Via email, Dm, or form is appreciated. We do not have a reception area and are located upstairs so we ask new clients and inquiries to make an appointment before entering the studio if possible.

-Same day appointments are sometimes available if you call ahead. 613 692 3232. We do not accept "Walk-ins" and will politely tell you to email us or come back when we have an allocated time slot for you.

-Deposits are to each artists discretion. Currently no artists take deposits unless reschedules occur or there is a special event / flash for sale.

-You may be dropped as a client if frequent problems or reschedules occur.

Cancelation Policies and Fees:

Since we do not ask for deposits we have implemented a cancelation fee. If a cancelation or reschedule occurs within 48 hours or less you are subjected to paying a standard hourly fee. Cancelation fees need to be sent in order to rebook, otherwise you will not be invited back to our studio.

Alina- $200 Cancellation fee within 48 hours or less.

Jessyka & Carly - $120 Cancellation fee within 48 hours or less.

Free Touchup Policy:

Touchups are at each artists discretion. General studio policy is 1 free touchup within 3 months as long as proper aftercare was followed. Any damage, allergic reaction, infection, or scarring due to rubbing, picking, or not keeping it clean, will not be touched up for free.

Please take your artists advice into consideration while planning for the location and healing of your tattoo. Hands, Fingers, and feet will also not be touched up for free.

Getting a tattoo is an experience, and a little prep goes a long way in making sure it’s a great one! Here’s what you can do to get ready for your session;

Stay Hydrated & Moisturize
For at least two weeks before your appointment, keep your skin in top shape by moisturizing daily and drinking plenty of water. Bring a bottle of water with you, too—staying hydrated makes the whole experience smoother.
What to Bring
We want you to feel as comfortable as possible! Consider bringing:
- Headphones or an iPad – Perfect for zoning out with music, podcasts, or movies.
- Snacks – Keeping your energy up can help you power through longer sessions.
- Comfortable Clothing – Wear something that gives us easy access to the area being tattooed.
- Small Pillow or Blanket – It’s always nice to have a bit of extra comfort, but be sure it’s something you don’t mind getting a little ink on!
